After he left his company, more women came forward with horrific accounts of alleged mistreatment by Batali. His show, The Chew, dropped him from the series. After the fallout continued he issued a statement: “I know my actions have disappointed many people,” he said. “The successes I have enjoyed are owned by everyone on my team. The failures are mine alone.” He spent the remaining months in hiding, planning his next move, emerging only recently in hopes of mounting a comeback.
