The disgraced chef was reportedly meeting with his closest friends and advisers in February regarding a potential comeback. The New York Times reported that he is deciding whether to just focus on his philanthropy work, or leave the U.S. and move to Italy’s Amalfi Coast altogether. His business partner, Joe Bastianich says that the work currently being done to rid business ventures of Batali’s name is going well. “The real point of beginning will be when he departs from the company. That’s ground zero. It’s about creating a post-Mario world,” says Bastianich.
