It was reported last week that the New York Police Department has opened an investigation into Batali’s abuse allegations starting all the way back to 2005. Batali “vehemently denies” the allegations yet officials are moving ahead with the investigation anyway. As a result, Batali’s brand has taken a significant hit. Three of his Las Vegas restaurants have already announced that they’re closing with several more expected to follow. It proves to be the continued unravelling to someone who was once one of the biggest chefs in the world.
