Though he himself is a public figure, Batali’s wife since 1994, Susi Cahn, has largely remained a mystery. She chooses to stay out of the public eye and remains behind the scenes. What we do know, however, is that the couple met at Batali’s restaurant Rocco in New York City. A New Yorker profile summarized her thusly: “Cahn, who is so many things that Batali isn’t—petite, dark-haired, East Coast […] early-to-bed to his out-until-early, reserved and deliberate to his outgoing and impulsive.” The couple lives in New York City with their two sons.
