Locks aren’t any good to you if they don’t work correctly. However, if they’re kept outside then you run the risk of them getting rusty over time.
When that happens, trying to open them can be a nightmare, essentially locking you out of whatever you were trying to get into. The last thing you want is for the key to break in the lock, which is why it’s always good to have some WD-40 around. Put a bit of this on the key and it ought to work fine.
