Air conditioning units are great during the hot summer months, but they require regular attention. The air isn’t as clean as you might think, and plenty of dust particles can get trapped in the filter the longer the AC’s running.
You don’t want your unit to be pumping out dirty air, which is why you need to use WD-40 before you have it installed. Spraying this on the filter will prevent too much dirt from collecting in the filter, meaning it can work more efficiently for a lot longer.
