There have been many movies over the years that show off women who can’t possibly carry on in this world without a man swooping in and saving them from whatever horror stands in their way. Sure, sometimes we need our partner’s help to get the job done.
However, asking for help when we could finish something ourselves is likely to have the opposite effect. Men often feel as though women are trying to get their attention or are utterly helpless without someone by their side. Starting a debate or showing off your impressive skills are both much more likely to earn a positive response.
