Although the trio were prepared for a long journey of IVF ahead, Cecile miraculously got pregnant after the first round just months later. On the 25th of March, 2019, the 61-year-old gave birth to her granddaughter, and her son and son-in-law’s first child, Uma Louise Dougherty-Eledge.
The 18-hour long labor and delivery was a complete success, and a beautiful, healthy little baby girl was brought into the world at five pounds and 13 ounces thanks to one mom’s selfless and incredibly thoughtful act.
