Although the birth mother had agreed to let Jeremy and Kaley adopt her child, she backed out at the last minute. She wanted to keep the child for herself, and she wanted to raise it in her own home. The couple were naturally incredibly upset, but they were even more upset to hear of the circumstances surrounding this change of plan. After the birth mother was arrested, the baby was later placed in the care of her grandmother. Unfortunately, both the infant and the grandmother later passed away during a brutal event.
