Something bizarre to point out about this whole ordeal is the reason the woman was so disappointed in the beginning. Her expectations were not met and she thought she would be getting a Tiffany ring. While obviously she probably could have been happy with any ring, there was a reason for her dismay.
So it begs to question why the man had sent Tiffany rings. Some Reddit users suggested that maybe he was sending these because they were a similar cut, band, or style. Another reason could be that he had intended to buy one of those rings before he realized his mother was offering up hers.
