It seems that Pharrell’s words lowered the Duchess’ guard enough for her to respond in kind to his inspiring speech. He had personally explained how her relationship with Harry was inspiring, and he has a pretty good idea what it’s like having his relationship scrutinized every moment.
Her response was short but candid. She leaned into Pharrell as if to try and keep it quiet, but she thanked him in a low voice, claiming that “They don’t make it easy.”
