Groves purchased the avozilla trees about four years ago, and this is the first year where they have yielded any fruit. On his farm he has around 400 trees, but he doesn’t believe they will be as productive as regular avocado trees.
When people stop and ask him about the avozillas, Groves says that people are fascinated by where they came from and what he did to get them so big. It all started with one giant avocado tree that Groves took as a trial, and it went from there.
