Stray dogs in Bali have become a major issue for the island. However, their numbers have significantly dropped after an outbreak of rabies ended the lives of many.
This has caused an even greater problem for many in the country as locals don’t want to risk contamination. On the other hand, many of the dogs are cared for by the residents thanks to the belief the animals will bring good luck and act as good spirits in their homes.
