Most people know that Meghan has a troubled relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, particularly following the fiasco that happened just before Meghan and Harry were married. Seward believes that Diana would have taken a particular interest in this situation with Meghan and her father and would have liked to know all the minor details.
This may or may not have been because of her own relationship with her parents became somewhat tumultuous. Diana had a poor relationship with her mother throughout her life, but she had left when Diana was still a child; however, the hurt still remained. Meghan’s relationship with her own father is almost non-existent since the wedding, and since it was released that he was being paid to have pictures taken.
