Pat Boone was unsure about kissing Shirley Jones in the musical drama ‘April Love’ because he didn’t have permission from his wife. When he read the script there were no kissing scenes, so Boone accepted the role.
The director then decided to go off-script and asked Boone to kiss Jones. The actor said he wouldn’t do it until he spoke with his wife. He went home, and his wife gave him permission for that film and all future films.
