Life got off to a bad start for Tina. After getting through the Second World War, the rock ‘n’ roll singer was forced to live with her grandmother Georgeanna because her parents separated. Her mother had run away, determined to put some distance between her and her husband who was accused of being abusive. Tina later reunited with her mother after her grandmother passed away when she was 16, although the relationship between the two was always strained. Tina could never shake the feeling that the woman didn’t want her.
