The Turners stayed together following Tina’s attempt to take her life, although things were still just as bad. The singer continued to be a victim of abuse, and Ike didn’t let up on his reportedly harsh treatment of his wife. Although Tina didn’t make any further efforts to end it all, the thought was still there in the back of her mind. She couldn’t keep going on the way she was, and she knew that something had to give. Eventually, she realized that that something had to be her.
