After a few false starts in the ‘50s, 1954 was the year that things finally took off for Kelly. She appeared in a total of five movies that year, with her appearance in The Country Girl helping her win the coveted Best Actress accolade at the Academy Awards.
Grace faced some tough competition from the likes of Judy Garland and Audrey Hepburn. However, it was her acting that impressed people the most. That film also earned her a Golden Globe and a National Board of Review Award too.
