The first couple Homeland seasons were so successful that critics were lauding it as one of the very best shows on television for a while.

However, by the time season three rolled around, its height of popularity began to waver slightly, with only the show’s true diehards sticking around. In fact, some critics couldn’t believe how steep the drop off was. Eventually the choice was made to end it, and that’s what we’re going to see this year.
