Political dramas are always hard to get off the ground because you have to have an incredible script to really grab the audience. While CBS thought they had it made with Madam Secretary, it seems as though the ratings were saying otherwise.
In fact, season 4 became the lowest-rated scripted series on the CBS network, which doesn’t stand in its favor. We’re currently on season 5 of the show, and ratings have picked up, so maybe we won’t be saying goodbye to it after all? We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
