Unless you’re working with one of a major music app’s top 100 artists, sound engineering can be a thankless job. A lot of expertise is required, equipment is insanely expensive, and the payment is low (since the majority of the market is filled with newbies or not-so-popular bands with tight budgets). You’ll find musicians that appreciate your work, and others that expect you to do miracles when fixing terrible mistakes in bad songs. You need your ear to earn a living, yet working in a studio for a whole day can destroy your hearing.
