Acquiring the skills to be an illustrator can take years, but it’s extremely fulfilling (if you can achieve it). The problem is that working as an artist can easily drain your energy. Everyone seems to have a better portfolio, you have to fight to receive a good payment for your gig, and don’t you dare having an artist block, because deadlines must be met. Making a living out of your art can be stressful and unsecure from time to time, and you’ll have to work hard before enjoying any luxuries.
