She decided to fly to New York where she was able to join forces with the producing legend, Phil Ramone, who helped the star recreate her image and musical style.
Karen used this opportunity to break into the world of dance and disco music – a move that didn’t go down well, as her label told Karen they would never release the album, which proved to be a devastating blow for the star.
