Even though the record deal hadn’t gone as planned, the band was still considered as a talented local act. Richard landed the role as the trumpet player for one very special song written by Joel Osborn, a famous bassist.
Karen didn’t want to be left out, so she tagged along with her older brother. After chatting with Karen, Joel and asked if she would sing for him. She did, and blew him away, and much to the annoyance of Richard. It was Karen who then became Joel’s primary focus, who signed her to his record label, Magi Lamp Records.
