[post_page_title]A question of love[/post_page_title]
Life for Karen continued to be a struggle. In a bid to keep her weight under down, she would walk two miles every day – ironically, to visit her therapist, Steven Levenkron, in an effort to better her mental and physical health.
After many sessions together, Steven concluded that Karen’s eating disorder was a way to cope with her familial issues. He gathered the rest of the Carpenter family together to discuss Karen’s disorder and asked them whether they loved her. Harold and Richard insisted that they did, while Agnes reportedly told Steven it was none of his business.
