When doing the vocals for the album, Karen began to come out from her brother’s shadow for the first time in years. In fact, she was even eating better than before, and enjoying spending time with her friends.
Karen described working on the album as the best time in her life but was devastated when the record label didn’t approve of the final product. Even so, her producer Phil Ramone claims that Karen called him to announce she didn’t care about other people’s opinions; she’d had fun and loved her work, and that was all that mattered.
