As time went by, more of the actual story behind Karen Carpenter’s life came to light. In addition, by the ‘90s retro music from the 1970s had become once again gained prominence, as Karen returned to being a household name, with everyone wanting to get hold of her music.
Artists such as Sheryl Crow, Sonic Youth, and Dishwalla all wanted to pay their own musical tributes to the late star, setting about to create a cover album of her biggest hits. Their own versions have somewhat of a twist, as they are all alternative rock covers.
