Karen tragically lost her battle with anorexia in 1983 . Three months prior, the star had voluntarily left the hospital so she could continue her treatment at her parents’ home. On February 4, her mother Agnes called her daughter but could not reach her.
Agnes came home and searched through the house, eventually finding her unconscious daughter upstairs. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but sadly, it was too late. At 32, Karen was pronounced dead 20 minutes after going into total heart failure.
