There is a certain irony at play here. The empathetic person is completely selfless becomes he wants others to be happy, and so he does everything he can to make other people’s lives better.
When he sees that others are now happier thanks to his deeds, he in turn becomes happier. On the contrary, the person who steals think that he will be happier if he adds to his fortune, but he fails to see the real value that he himself will gain from improving the life of another.
