Walmart clerk saves grandfather from making a big mistake

In December 2017, one grandpa was left wondering which way to turn when one of his relatives was in desperate need of his help. Cecil Rodgers was merely preparing for another Christmas as he anticipated the arrival of his grandchildren, but it was a phone call from his eldest grandson that was about to turn the holiday season on its head.

Christmas is all about spending time with family, but it looked as though there was going to be an empty seat at Cecil’s house that year. This was all until an unlikely person managed to stop Cecil Rodgers from making one of the biggest mistakes of his life; a mistake that would have not only cost Cecil his savings but one that would’ve also cost him his Christmas. On a visit to Walmart, one employee managed to prove that not all heroes wear capes as they stepped in to save the day.

Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, began trading back in 1945 when he was left wondering which direction to head in after serving in the military during World War II. After just five years Sam was already bringing in a quarter of a million dollars in profit which enabled him to purchase his first store in 1950. Since then the company has grown to own over 11,500 stores across 28 different countries around the world, all of which bring in over $400 billion each year combined. The stores have always been known for offering the best deals at the lowest prices as Sam Walton believed the key to success was selling as many items as possible, rather than selling a few high priced items. After years of building a name for themselves within local communities, Walmart has become a household favorite for nearly every shopping need.

As the current largest company in the world, Walmart employs more people globally than the entire population of Houston, Texas. From their hugely welcoming store greeters to the viral clips of the kind-hearted cashiers, Walmart has employed a considerable number of memorable faces over the years. With Beyonce, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, and Justin Bieber having all been spotted at stores over the years, it was no celebrity that was causing a stir this holiday season. It was just another day for all the employees at the Evenland Walmart until one employee shone above everyone else, as they managed to save Christmas for one family single-handedly…
