Ross’ first wife, from before the show began, was Carol Willick – portrayed by Anita Barone for one episode until Jane Sibbett took over. Carol and Ross ended their marriage after she confessed to her husband that she was in love with another woman, oh and by the way she was pregnant with his son.
Carol goes on to raise Ross’ son Ben with her partner, Susan, as well as Ross – who manages the whole co-parenting situation surprisingly well, for the most part.
