Although it’s hard to know for sure what happened without substantial evidence, Jay-Z’s album ‘4:44’ does seem to confirm our suspicions. The record came out in 2017 several years after the incident, with one of his songs apparently referencing that infamous moment.
He rapped the lines ‘You egged Solange on / Knowin’ all along / All you had to say you was wrong.’ Although this doesn’t exactly clear up any of the details, it does show that Jay-Z did do something that night to set off his sister-in-law.
