Recording ‘Lemonade’ and ‘4:44’ was apparently therapeutic for both parties. These two are incredibly passionate about music, so letting everything out in the studio really helped with the healing process. According to Jay-Z, neither of them let the other know what they were working on at the time.
Presumably, they didn’t want to be told what they could and couldn’t say, especially Beyonce. If she wished to say to the world that her husband was a cheat, nothing was going to stop her. She didn’t care about Jay-Z’s reputation.
