Following the incident in the elevator, the trio knew they couldn’t pretend like it never happened. As much as they’d have loved to, the video was everywhere they looked. The press and the public were expecting them to comment on the situation, so they couldn’t exactly keep quiet.
That’s why they released a statement some days later that touched on the incident without actually revealing what went down. It said that both Jay-Z and Solange “assume their share of responsibility” and explained that they’d “moved forward as a united family.”
