When it first emerged that the pair hadn’t attended the wedding, fans went into overdrive theorizing the reason why. Some of them guessed that Beyonce and Jay-Z were dealing with personal issues, but others suggested there were other reasons for their absence.
A lot of the speculation surrounded Beyonce’s relationship with Kim, with rumors alleging that the two women didn’t get along. If the singer couldn’t get behind Kanye’s wife, it would certainly make sense why she’d want to avoid the wedding. However, this was never confirmed.
