Another character who only appeared in the third season is the lovely Laeta. Laeta is the wealthy, privileged Roman woman and wife of a Roman dignitary. Despite her high ranking, she does not look down upon slaves and even feels bad for them. She is eventually captured as a slave herself by Heracleo, the leader of a group of Cilician pirates, and slowly begins to embrace the rebellion. She eventually falls for Spartacus, after realizing that he was a man who had suffered years of pain himself.
