The role of Naevia, Lucretia’s personal and loyal slave, was portrayed by Lesley-Ann Brandt during the first season and the prequel before Cynthia Addai-Robinson took over for the second and third seasons. Naevia later becomes the love interest of Crixus, a former Champion of Capua, and is banished from the Ludus after their love affair is discovered. Crixus vows to find her, and eventually finds her in the deepest mines of Rome, where she is repeatedly assaulted. Crixus trains her to be a warrior so that no man will ever harm her again.
