[post_page_title]Asking for the check[/post_page_title]
As it came to the end of the night, Berr called David over and asked for the check. The waiter immediately printed off the check and took it back over to the man who was sitting at the table.
However, he knew that he didn’t have the time to stick around and wait for Berr to pay up. He went over to serve a nearby table and made a mental note to return to Steffen to close the deal. Once he had a free moment, he made his way back over to the table where Berr had been sitting – but he had gone.

David was a little bemused to see that Steffen had simply left without handing the money over to him. Most people would ask to pay using their credit card and therefore need the card machine, while others would wait around to get their change.
Of course, he did serve customers who would pay using the exact change or a check – but it was rare. That’s why David began to speculate that something wasn’t quite right about Berr’s bill. One look at the piece of paper, and he realized he had been right.
