Thomas knew that he shouldn’t interfere with nature, but he also knew that the little cub needed a bit of help if he were to survive. He could see that a huge line of cars were piling up behind the bears, and he didn’t want to make them even more distressed.
Because of this, he decided to utilize his state-given authority to tell the cars to turn around and try a different route. He hoped that with fewer cars around, the bears would be able to go on their way, and he wouldn’t have to intervene.
