Carter Lee Lopez was extremely unwell, and the doctors didn’t have a lot of hope for his recovery. Although they took care of him and tried to ensure that he was given the utmost medical attention, they knew from experience that babies with his level of brain damage rarely survived. Because of this, they wanted Breanna and her husband to be prepared for the worst. There was a chance that their son wouldn’t make it, but the couple were holding out hope. They lived by the idea that “Anything can turn around.”
