Everything should have ended when Ashley was fired, but she continued to keep up the pretense of having a child. After she was fired, she didn’t have access to Blake so she couldn’t continue with her scam.
This was when Ashley decided she needed her story to take a twist, and to set the wheels in motion, she called her new friend Katie with some news. Ashley was in floods of tears as she lied to Katie, telling her that her son (Blake) had just passed away in a car crash.
