After trying to make it big in the music industry with his friend and turntablist, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Will Smith bagged his big break in the mid-’80s when DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince released their very first single. Smith was still a high school student at this point, but the world fell in love with his charisma and his ability to tell stories within his lyrics.
Before too long they landed a record deal that would change their lives and give them more money than they had ever seen in their lives. However, the youngster struggled to deal with this newfound fame and fortune. Smith underpaid his taxes and found himself without a home or possessions after the IRS took them to pay his debts.
