Investigations soon showed that Lauren had suffered a stroke in the weeks leading up the accident, and it looked as though her recent ailment may have contributed to the crash. The mother stated how she would often lose feeling in her foot.
Apparently, it had gone completely numb as she drove up the house, causing it to slip onto the accelerator. Before she knew it, Lauren had crashed into the side of the house. She just wanted to tell her side of the story before the police believed Lauren had deliberately destroyed the home.
