Knowing full well that cars do get incredibly hot, police officer Vincent Kreischer couldn’t allow Nicholas’ neglect go unpunished. He waited for her to return from her shopping trip, probably in a nice air-conditioned store, to give her his thoughts on leaving hot cars unattended, particularly as her neglect could have been seriously dangerous for what she had left in the car. There was no denying that Nicholas’ attitude had riled the police officer and he was sure to make an example out of her.
