When Lorna contacted the agency, she expected to be told when would be a good time for her to go and visit, but instead, she was left amazed. The usual things that come up when trying to rent a property usually include providing your new landlord with references and proving you have the funds for the rent.
Lorna never expected in a million years that her gender had anything to do with her ability to rent a property. Yet, when she went to inquire about a flat she liked the look of, that’s exactly what the problem was. Lorna was told that because she was female she would not be allowed to rent this property.
