Calming down a little bit, Tracy decided to check on her kids, just to be sure that one of them wasn’t making the noises. Checking on all of them, Tracy was relieved to see that they were fine, although this still left her with the phantom footsteps from upstairs.
She decided to go back to her room and wait, not wanting to panic anyone unnecessarily. Texting her ex-husband to come over first thing in the morning, Tracy waited, determined to stay up all night and listen for any signs of danger.
