[post_page_title]Richard Pryor[/post_page_title]
Before Richard Pryor became a successful stand-up comedian and social critic, he served in the Army from 1958 and 1960. However, Pryor did not have the typical service as he was in army jail for most of his experience. It is alleged that while Pryor was stationed in Germany, he (along with some other African-American soldiers) stabbed and beat a man over some racially charged comments. After his time in the Army, Pryor moved to New York City to pursue his career in comedy.
