There is a certain feeling you get when you watch NBC’s Parks and Recreation. It’s the kind of feeling that lets you know that there is someone there for you at all times, a warm presence in your life that can make you laugh on the turn of a dime. And although life can get stressful at times, it’s nice to know that after a long day of work and toil, our favorite characters from the show are there to help us lighten the load.
The show takes place in the fictional city of Pawnee, Indiana, and focuses on a group of office workers in a Parks and Recreation Department facility – hence the name of the show. But it is also shot in unique mockumentary form, taking a leaf out of sister show NBC’s The Office’s book. What this means is that the show is scripted and fictional, but every now and then the audience is given a glimpse into private interviews with the characters – and that’s where we find out what they’re truly thinking.
The show is full of quirky, childish, and lovable characters, and although everyone has their favorites, there is no one like Leslie Knope. Portrayed by comedian Amy Poehler, Leslie is essentially the show’s main character, and the zany captain of the Parks and Rec unpredictable ship of characters. And as far as the women go, she is certainly not the only one that makes us laugh. Indeed, the show has enjoyed the presence of all kinds of fun ladies, who can’t wait for the next “Galentine’s Day.”
Another female character who has a very prominent role on the show is April Ludgate, played by Aubrey Plaza. April is a sarcastic, subtly downplayed character that rounds out the show well, and her sardonic, yet funny approach towards life gave off a sensibility that audiences didn’t expect, but were nonetheless pleased about. But her character wouldn’t be as good as she is without being played by a talented actress, and this is obviously the case for all of the females on the show.
In addition, there have been a large amount of beautiful guest stars that we’ve seen on Parks and Rec, such as supermodel and television personality Heidi Klum – and she is just the tip of the iceberg. Some of these women are ones that you already know, and some of them – we think you might get along well with. If you’d like to know more about these lovely ladies, stay tuned – cause we’ve got you covered.
[post_page_title]Natalie Morales as Lucy Santo Domingo[/post_page_title]
Lucy is a relatively prominent character on the show, originally appearing as a bartender at The Snakehole Lounge, where she meets Tom, played by Aziz Ansari, who is in a rut. After striking out with numerous women, he stops trying so hard and finds himself very relaxed around Lucy, and the two incidentally hit it off. Their relationship goes through a number of rocky patches, but they end up patching things up pretty nicely and ultimately get engaged.
