The show brought in six years of rating in the top 20 for its first six seasons. However, the seventh season saw the show slip to number 39 which caused the producers to cancel the series before its legacy was damaged. Although the season ended up receiving disappointing ratings, ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ held the record for most Emmys ever won having a collection of a staggering 29! The show was only knocked off top spot when ‘Frasier’ won its 30th award in 2002.
