Carl Reiner, who ‘The Dick Van Dyke’ show was based on, told the cast that the show would run for no longer than five years, and he wasn’t wrong as the show ran from 1961 – 1966. Being cast as Dick Van Dyke’s wife, Laura Petrie gave Moore a chance to bring energy into the show, as well as give her a chance to explore her comedy acting side. The actress’ popularity skyrocketed and Moore, as well as her signature tight-fitting capri pants, rose to fame!
